White lacquered MDF skirting board
Skirting closes the join between floor and wall, and does two jobs at once: it covers the expansion gap every wood floor needs and protects the wall from knocks and the mop.
White lacquered MDF arrives already finished from the factory, which saves sanding and painting on site. It is the most common choice in refurbishment because it goes with any floor tone and suits both classic and minimalist interiors.
It fits with MS polymer adhesive on a smooth wall, or screwed with the heads filled if the surface is uneven. Always measure the full perimeter of the room and add 10%: mitred corner cuts generate more waste than you would expect.
Framed pine trellis
Trellis provides screening without blocking air or light, which a solid panel cannot do. It is used as a terrace divider, to hide air conditioning units, as support for climbing plants or simply as a decorative wall feature.
Coming framed, the panel gains rigidity and can be fixed directly to a wall or between posts without additional structure. Outdoors, a protective treatment every two years keeps the pine tone and extends its life considerably.
