Everything you need to install decking

Well-chosen decking can still look wrong if the fastening does not match. This section brings together the tools and consumables needed to lay an outdoor floor and finish it to a professional standard.

Hidden fastening with the CAMO system

The CAMO Marksman tool guides the screw at an angle through the edge of the board, so the head stays hidden and the deck surface shows no metal at all. It is the system that separates a professionally laid deck from one done by eye. It needs specific treated steel screws: ordinary screws will not enter at the right angle and snap.

Metal clips are the alternative when the board comes grooved from the factory: they slot between boards and guarantee even spacing without measuring.

Joists and substructure

The joist is the structure everything rests on. Tropical hardwood joists cope with the weather far better than pine and save you rebuilding the substructure after a few years. Space them every 40 to 50 cm depending on board thickness.

Other accessories

You will also find galvanised barbed wire for fencing, galvanised tank covers and panel carriers for moving large-format boards without damaging the edges.

Tell us which decking you are installing and we will tell you exactly which fastening you need.
