Flexible oak wall cladding: what each box contains and how to install it
Flexible oak slat wall cladding is one of our most popular products for adding warmth and design to a wall. Before buying, customers usually ask two questions: how much area does each box cover and how is it installed? Here are clear answers so you can order with confidence.
What does each box contain and how much does it cover?
Each box contains one panel with the following exact dimensions:
- Width: 30 cm (300 mm)
- Length: 240 cm (2400 mm)
- Coverage: 0.72 m² per box
Pay close attention to the units: the panel measures 300 × 2400 millimetres, or 30 × 240 centimetres. This gives the 0.72 m² coverage per box (0.30 m × 2.40 m = 0.72 m²).
How to calculate how many boxes you need
It is simple: measure the wall area in square metres and divide it by 0.72. For example, a 5 m² wall requires 7 boxes (5 ÷ 0.72 = 6.9, rounded up).
We always recommend adding 10% extra to allow for cuts and adjustments. You do not need to work it out manually: the product page includes a square-metre calculator. Enter the wall area and it tells you how many boxes to buy, with the allowance already included.
How is it installed: adhesive or screws?
Easy installation is one of this panel’s main advantages. It is fixed with adhesive (construction adhesive), with no screws or visible fixings required. Follow these steps:
- Prepare the wall: it must be clean, dry and level. Smooth surfaces such as plasterboard, plaster or painted walls give the best result.
- Apply the adhesive: spread a wood-compatible construction adhesive over the back of the panel and press it firmly against the wall.
- Fit it around curves: the flexible non-woven backing allows the panel to follow columns, counters and curved surfaces without losing stability.
- Join the panels: position them side by side, aligning the slats for a continuous finish with no visible joints.
Because the panel is bonded rather than screwed, the finished surface looks clean and professional.
An important detail about natural wood
This panel is made from natural solid oak. Because it is genuine wood rather than an industrial print, the colour and grain may vary slightly from one panel to another. This is not a defect; it is proof that the material is real and every panel is unique. For a large wall, open all the boxes before installation and distribute the panels by mixing the tones for a more natural and balanced result.
